Why is My Country Fucking Everything Up?

My name is Jake Starr and I'm the singer in the rock-n-roll band Adam West. Sorry about my little amusing tangent in January's column. I guess I needed to let off some steam. This month's harangue is of a more serious nature.

But I don't want to bore you with any political opinions cuz you don't give a fuck about what I have to say about politics. But know this: I am appalled at what my country is turning into. And also please know this: I did NOT vote for this fucking asshole for president. In fact, more than half of my country didn't vote for that fucker and he still stole the election. Now he's sending the USA and the rest of the world to hell in a handbasket. It seriously disgusts me.

Please know that all Americans (in fact, most) are not like him. Don't judge all of us by him and his policies. Ugh, it makes me sick thinking about it.

So now I'll talk about something that makes me happy: ME! My band Adam West is about to record our new album "God's Gift to Women" so we've been working hard getting the songs ready. The album will have 13 original songs and be released in Europe by People Like You Records in the fall. We're also recording 3 extra songs for a split 10" EP to come out on Sleazey Records in Portugal this summer. And there will be 2 additional songs for a Hellacopters/Adam West split 7" picture disc EP coming out on People Like You this year. We're covering the Hellacopters' "Ferrytale" and the 'Copters plan to cover an Adam West song. I have no idea which one, so ask Nicke if you see him.

In the interim to appease you rock-n-roll fans, the "Adam West Digs Scandinavian Chicks!" 7" is out now on Bootleg Booze Records in Sweden. It contains our covers of Thee Ultra Bimboos "We're Inside" and Mensen "Cruiser." There is an ultra-limited edition filmbox version that is part of a contest here at LaBruta.com and also on the Grunnen Rocks website. Good luck!

The "Hi-Balls Are Rolling! (1999-2001 Collection)" compilation CD on Twenty Stone Blatt Records in the UK should be out in March. This one contains 20 rare songs from our 10" EP and various singles and compilation appearances. This is a companion volume to the "Ready Steady Adam West! (1993-1999 Collection)" that came out in 2002 on People Like You.

And last but not least, our last album "Right On!" will be released on Myrmecoleo Records in Japan in March. This CD has 5 live bonus tracks and contains exclusive packaging and OBI strip. Very, very limited pressing so get it quick!
