Mad Sin - Survival Of The Sickest

(People Like You Records)

Hell yeah. What can you expect when the singer`s name is Hellvis and the band`s Mad Sin? This is particularly different. It`s rockabilly, boosted with double-bassdrums, freaky vocals and psychoing-around-in-a-small-basement-room-trying-to-fuck-everything-that-moves. If you didn`t get it, here`s a clear explanation: this records is fucking bliss! When you listen to high-energy and straight-ahead punk and rock it gets pretty boring from time to time. Mad Sin is exactly a good reminder of how rock music can be different. It`s still rockabily (hellbilly, like they describe it), but it`s got lots of rocky and punky elements that make it punch out and turn you inside out. Some people might take it humorously. Even I did, at first, but after listening to the album over and over again it became obvious that these guys are serious about what they do. By no means is this humor band; go listen to Limp Bizkit or Eminem if you want humor. But in case you happen to like unique rock-hellbilly-punk-psycho-mixture, get this record!
