You come from Finland. What are the benefits and what are the disadvantages of that?
M: I can't think of anything I could consider a benefit from that. Just the fact that's it's a small place is a disadvantage. There's not many places to play and the "scene" (in need of a better word) is small and you have to kiss ass to make it. You see it happen all the time with bands coming up and it's not because they're very good.
K: My answer on both counts is all the bands in here are such crap.
If you could play in your all-time "dream band" who would be in the line-up?
K: I'm in it already.
M: Me and my brother with Keith Moon and John Entwistle.
For some reason your music reminds me of bands like 22 Pistepirkko and Larry and the Lefthanded. Well, at least your organs play a big part, or what?
M: What any music reminds people of is up to the listener really. Some years ago we were really into older 22PP but they're not really an influence on us, not anymore anyway. The organ has played an important part on our recordings up to now. There will be less of that from now on but it will remain an element in our sound, just not such a key element anymore.
K: I thought these two were techno bands... What's that to do with us?
Your band is still kinda new, but you had some international attention shortly after your band was established. How did you manage to get this good reputation so quickly?
M: We went our own route; we kissed a lot of foreign ass instead of any Finnish ass.
K: We did our first 7" single and sent it around. In other countries people got excited, in Finland it seems people got scared.
Your lineup changed just little while ago, when Miika Tervonen (of T-Star guitar/vox fame) replaced the previous bass player Kassu, who transfered to play the second guitar. How has this changed the sound of your band?
M: Leonard, our drummer has been forced to drum EVEN louder than before, so that's new.
K: We used to have some wild guitar solos - now double that!
Do you have any upcoming releases?
M: No. I'm gonna go solo.
K: Yes. We'll do a box set next.
What did the British invasion give to the world?
K: Decent haircuts.
M: The Paisley, eventually.
You've said that there's not many good Finnish bands around, do you really think so?
M: Yes. Not many.
K: Bands here either play sissy pop or their interpretation of "rock'n'roll" is sub standard music with flames, skulls and keychains all over the place. Most bands seem to think copying Stooges riffs is all it takes as opposed to actually writing a song.
What records would you recommend for those who only know bands like Limp Bizkit?
K: Earplugs.
M: A bullet to their heads.
What's your message to the people, who are reading this interview?
K: Girls, feelin' lonely? Call 0800-KASSU.
M: Boys call free of charge.
