That`s right! Three nights in a row at the same place at the same time! This time I had some knowledge of bands and my name was on the guestlist (equivalent to free entrance + one free drink). Tonight`s line-up consisted from six bands and almost all of them were great shows!
First band was called AMOK. For some reason they didn`t do too well; the guitarist succesfully broke a string before the show as he was tuning his axe (which was totally off-tune during the whole show), the drummer was lost at times and the bassist was just pretty neutral about everything. Three songs, lots of bloopers and a shitty mood. I`ll drink to that!
Second band on-stage was Atmosfear. This was something I didn`t expect: a trippy psychedelic-band in the 60`s way! They played a ten-minute trippy, psychedelic and mind-flowing intro - using various cosmic effects and sounds - before the singer - who faced the right-side wall at the center of the staged through the whole intro - started racketing. At the walls one could see those trippy moving videos of different-colored cells/bacterias/tissues or whatever they are. It was almost like getting high without drugs, and they sounded fucking good! The second and last song was as long as the first one (over 15 minutes) and they did some good justice with that too. Later on their guitarist - Yori - invited me for a drink. Did I go? Hell yeah!
Third band on-stage was Hashuposhu. Not much of an interest to me; general funk-punk with already-been-used-riffs. I usually watch all the shows at Club Water at the front standing up, but for some reason I didn`t want to get up during this one and hoped that they would end their gig soon that I could see the next one.
Fourth & best band for that night was Beryneck. A group which played melancholic powerpop mixed with harmonious electronica, accompanied by the most beautiful woman I have ever seen: Momo Hitlady, the singer. The keyboardist had The Hives-outfit (black pants, black shirt, white belt, white stuffed-in tie), an impressing point that was. Anyway, they played three beautiful songs and I couldn`t take my eyes off Momo, who also had a very beautiful voice. The best act of that night for sure! I`m happy to say that I have their 7" and split-cd with Beirut 5!
Fifth & final band was a Hives`ish industrial-rock band called Beirut 5. The forementioned Hives-styled Beryneck-keyboardist was the singer/guitarist in this one and the bassist also was wearing Hives-clothes. What`s to say? It was like The Hives meets melancholia and industrial rock! Good and catchy songs and wild stage-show got me jumping! I left the club in a happy mood, accompanied by a woman called Triple Miss Tinnitus. Three-nights in a row without earplugs is wild!
Pictures coming later on!
